FIBRA (First World Price for Contemporary Plant Fiber Base Architecture)

On 20/02/2020, for the first time in India, the Fibra Awards were held in Ahmadabad, India in association with the Sal School of Architecture and Alliance Franciase. The exhibition was till 22/02/2020.

Sal School of Architecture Principal Shri Shrutiben Shah along with Professor Enrico and Professor Charlotte inaugurated this exhibition in Ahmadabad.

Fifty such buildings were identified all over the world. All these buildings had Walls made of hemp lime or bales of load-bearing straw, bamboo frames, reed roofing and cladding, wicker railings…

The FIBRA Award pays a tribute to the courage of the owners who have chosen biosourced materials, to the creativity of architects and engineers and to the skills of craftsmen and entrepreneurs.

To make this a reality a very unique idea came up for documenting these buildings by students of semester 4, ,6 and 8.The typology of buildings ranged from Housing to connecting bridges and Institutions, also.
